Luke Duceman, a native of Mount Carmel, PA, is a career pathway advisor at Dickinson College where he advises undergraduate students within the sectors of data, technology, and engineering in addition to nonprofit, education, and social impact. His prior experiences in higher education include being an assistant director of admissions at Lycoming College as well as teaching English at postsecondary technical schools in Costa Rica via two separate Fulbright fellowships. Further experience within the education sector includes his work as a recruiter for the US Migrant Education Program, interning for the Norwegian Refugee Council’s Youth Education and Training program, as well as teaching music in Pennsylvania public schools.
Luke holds an Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) in Education Policies for Global Development (GLOBED) via a collaboration between the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the University of Cyprus. His thesis focused on how low-income secondary-aged students from Costa Rica are affected in their educational and work-related trajectories when their Avancemos conditional cash transfer benefits are unexpectedly removed.
