Executive Director of the Center for Career Development

Annie Kondas serves as the Executive Director of Career Development at Dickinson College, where she provides strategic leadership for three functional areas: Career Development and Pathways, Internships, and Employer Relations at Dickinson. In this role, she oversees initiatives that help students and alumni explore career possibilities, develop professional competencies, and connect with experiential learning and employment opportunities. Annie is particularly passionate about integrating career development throughout the liberal arts experience and preparing students to navigate a rapidly changing world of work.

Prior to assuming her current leadership role, Annie held several positions at Dickinson College, including director and associate director roles in the Center for Career Development as well as Student Life and New Student Programs. Her broad institutional experience has provided her with a deep understanding of the student experience and a commitment to fostering student growth and success. Before joining Dickinson, Annie worked in career services at Susquehanna University, Ashland University, and Baldwin Wallace College, building expertise in career advising, employer engagement, and experiential learning across a variety of institutional settings.

In her free time, Annie is a volleyball coach for the West Shore YMCA and Boiling Springs High School. 

Director of Career Pathways

Jamie Guilford is Director of Career Pathways at Dickinson College. She has worked in career services in various roles, including employer relations, career counseling, and adjunct faculty, at different institutions for 18 years including King’s College (PA), University of Colorado Denver, Gettysburg College, and York College of Pennsylvania. At Dickinson, she leads a team of five Career Pathway Advisors who offer personalized internship and job advice, industry-specific resources, and alumni connections to students through a career communities model. She also meets with students in the Business career community.

Jamie received her bachelor of arts in English from Susquehanna University and her master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). She has served on multiple committees for various professional organizations including the Commission for Career Development for ACPA and the Membership Committee for LACN, the Liberal Arts Career Network. She is a volunteer leader with the Eastern Association of Colleges & Employers (EACE) and serves as the Director of Membership, Recruitment and Retention on the Board of Directors. She has also served as Co-Chair of the Grants & Scholarships Committee, Co-Chair of the Conference Experience Committee, and as member on two different Annual Conference subcommittees.

Some of Jamie’s professional interests include Gen Alpha, the continuing evolution of career services, women’s career journeys, and leadership. In her free time, she enjoys:

• Reading, mostly fiction
• Listening to health & wellness podcasts
• Cooking and baking
• Attending theatre, dance, and comedy performances
• And most importantly, spending time with family

Director of Internships

Matthew Pouss serves as the Director of Internships at Dickinson College with over sixteen years of experience in experiential education, career development, and internship administration. At Dickinson, Matthew oversees the Academic Internship & Research Program (INP/REXP) while assisting the coordination of the Dickinson in DC program and London Summer Internship Program.  He is dedicated to cultivating meaningful internship experiences that align with students’ academic and professional goals. His collaborative, equity-focused approach aims to build strong partnerships with faculty, alumni, and employers to expand access to experiential learning while empowering students to translate their liberal arts and sciences education into impactful career pathways.

Prior to Dickinson, Matthew served the Mount St. Mary’s University community through its Career Center, where he led initiatives that significantly increased student internship participation, enhanced career readiness, and fostered cross-campus collaboration through innovative programming.  His professional journey also includes adventure-based counseling roles, various student support positions at Gettysburg College, Penn State Mont Alto, and Shippensburg University, AmeriCorps*VISTA service, and completion of an Appalachian Trail southbound thru-hike — experiences that continue to shape his values around service, resilience, and personal growth.

Director of Employer Relations

Andrea serves as the director of employer relations within the Center for Career Development at Dickinson College. In this role, Andrea and her team connect students with employers and industry partners, cultivating pathways to internships, career opportunities, and other career development experiences. Working closely with employers, alumni, and campus colleagues, Andrea is passionate about creating partnerships that benefit both students and employers, helping organizations meet talent needs while providing students with meaningful professional experiences.

With experience in admissions, advising, teaching, and career development, Andrea has spent her career supporting student success through a variety of roles in higher education, including prior service as a board member of the Pennsylvania chapter of the National Organization for Student Success (PA-NOSS). Her commitment to higher education began as a resident advisor during her undergraduate years and continues to be guided by the belief that education should be accessible, transparent, supportive, and transformative.

In addition to teaching career readiness courses, Andrea has taught English composition, with a particular focus on developmental education and writing support. Before joining Dickinson, she worked at York College of Pennsylvania and HACC, with prior industry experience in news writing and technical editing.

Career Pathway Advisor

Sarah (she/her) is a Career Pathway Advisor working with the Arts, Media, & Communications and Business Career Communities. Prior to Dickinson, Sarah worked at Spark the Journey (Spark), a Washington, DC, youth development non-profit. Throughout her time at Spark, Sarah supported caseloads of DC youth between the ages of 15-23 as they navigated college and career pathways. Sarah has additional non-profit experience working at EWDC, a reading mentorship program with DMV elementary school students. Throughout her work in education and youth development, Sarah has most enjoyed connecting with students and supporting their professional and personal growth.  

Sarah received her BA in International Studies (International Development minor) from Shippensburg University. She completed her MS degree at George Mason University where she studied Conflict Analysis and Resolution and focused on Social Justice Advocacy & Activism. Through her studies and experience, she has concentrated on education equity and supporting young people as they navigate education- and career-related opportunities. Outside of work Sarah enjoys:

• Art – in particular, drawing, painting, digital illustration, and clay work  
• Spending time outdoors adventuring with her dog

Career Community: Career Explorers

Jennifer Clough has worked in the Dickinson Center for Career Development since 2011 and serves as a Career Pathway Advisor for Career Explorers. She specializes in supporting students who are exploring majors, career interests, and future possibilities, helping them connect their interests, values, and strengths to meaningful academic and career paths.

Jennifer earned her bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in psychology from Indiana University Bloomington. As a student who began college very undecided about her own path, she understands firsthand the challenges and opportunities of career exploration. After several professional experiences, she realized that her passion was in education, though not in a traditional classroom setting, and went on to earn a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration. Following a practicum experience in a career center, she knew she had found her professional home and has worked in career services ever since.

Prior to joining Dickinson, Jennifer worked in career services at Texas Christian University, Manchester University in Indiana, and Chapman University in California.

Fun Facts:

• Jennifer is the parent of two adult children, ages 20 and 23.
• She has been a member of the same book club, with the same core group of friends, since 2009.
• In 2024, she traveled to New Zealand to visit her son while he was studying abroad at the University of Otago.
• She shares her home with three cats—Harvey, Chunk, and Pancake—each with their own unique adoption stories.

Luke Duceman, a native of Mount Carmel, PA, is a career pathway advisor at Dickinson College where he advises undergraduate students within the sectors of data, technology, and engineering in addition to nonprofit, education, and social impact. Drawing on influences from both of his career communities, Luke brings his personally authentic advising style that combines data-informed decision-making alongside an empathetic understanding of students’ lived experiences and circumstances.

Luke’s prior experiences in higher education include being an assistant director of admissions at Lycoming College as well as teaching English as a second language at postsecondary technical schools in Costa Rica via two separate Fulbright fellowships. Further experience within the education sector includes his work as a recruiter for the US Migrant Education Program, interning for the Norwegian Refugee Council’s Youth Education and Training program, as well as teaching music in Pennsylvania public schools.

Luke holds an Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) in Education Policies for Global Development (GLOBED) via a collaboration between the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the University of Cyprus. His thesis focused on how low-income secondary-aged students from Costa Rica are affected in their educational and work-related trajectories when their Avancemos conditional cash transfer benefits are unexpectedly removed. Luke also holds a Bachelor of Music in music education from Susquehanna University, where he studied saxophone under Dr. Gail B. Levinsky.

In his free time, Luke enjoys…

Career Pathway Advisor & Pre-Law Advisor

Laura (she/her) is a proud member of Dickinson’s Class of 2001 and joined Dickinson’s professional staff in 2003, spending most of her career in the Center for Career Development. She currently serves as Pre-Law Advisor and a Career Pathway Advisor for the Policy, Law & Government and Environment, Natural Resources & Sustainability career communities. Laura returned to the Center for Career Development in 2024 after time in the Office of Student Success & Advising, where she continued to support students in achieving their academic and professional goals.

Laura earned her BA in Psychology from Dickinson College, where she spent most of her time being completely undecided about her career path. She discovered career advising after taking a job as a student Career Coach (now called Career Ambassador) the summer before her senior year and found her calling. Upon graduating from Dickinson, she attended Shippensburg University, earning an MS in Counseling with a concentration in College Student Personnel. During her final semester in graduate school, she completed a graduate internship, once again in Dickinson’s Center for Career Development. Upon graduating from Shippensburg in May 2003, she immediately began her professional career at Dickinson.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys:

• Watching her daughter play college volleyball and her son play high school soccer
• Hiking – especially in Acadia National Park (where she grew up), the Adirondacks in upstate New York, and the mountains of Colorado
• Spending time with her two dogs, Gracie and Mabel, both rescued pit mixes
• Attending live music events
• Exploring independently owned restaurants, cafés, and unique establishments, as well as discovering hidden gems in small towns
• Distance running – she has completed three marathons and multiple half marathons

Assistant Director of Employer Relations

Suzy Biever was born and raised in Lebanon County and currently resides with her husband, four cats, two dogs, and two horses just outside of Lancaster, PA. As the Assistant Director of Employer Relations, Suzy works towards building meaningful relationships with employers to create and maintain long-term partnerships and consistent pipelines for student internships and full-time roles. In addition to employer outreach strategies, she helps develop various career programming, including career fairs, networking events, info sessions and more.

She has worked in higher education for the past ten years in various roles. At Elizabethtown College she served as the Assistant to the Dean of the School of Business for Experiential Learning  where she managed the Backpack-to-Briefcase program, taught managerial communications and student preparedness courses, designed a comprehensive internship program, maintained employer relations, coached students, and created programming. At Temple University, Suzy was a graduate fellow, an academic coach, and a graduate teaching assistant. She has also taught as an adjunct instructor at various institutions, including HACC, Lebanon Valley College, Temple University, and Elizabethtown College. Her classes have ranged from British literature survey courses, to first-year writing, to classes on Gothic literature, melancholy in British literature, and trauma studies in literature. Her scholarly work focuses on Scottish women writers of the Long-Eighteenth Century and the intersection of nationality, gender, and the science of the mind.

In her free time, Suzy likes to…
