Position Overview
The UI/UX Intern will help define how users interact with SAC Nexus and other SAC technology products.
The role sits at the intersection of product design, user research, information architecture, interaction design, and visual communication.
Because SAC Nexus is designed for investment and portfolio professionals dealing with complex information, the intern will face a particularly challenging design problem: transforming high-density data and sophisticated workflows into interfaces that are clear, intuitive, and decision-oriented.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct user and workflow research.
• Develop user personas and journey maps.
• Translate business requirements into user flows.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity interface designs.
• Develop and maintain design-system components.
• Design dashboards and complex data interfaces.
• Design workflows for investment, portfolio, risk, ESG, and business-intelligence applications.
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers and product leadership.
• Conduct usability reviews and identify friction points.
• Iterate designs based on user feedback and product requirements.
• Establish information hierarchy for complex datasets.
• Develop interaction patterns for AI-enabled applications.
• Produce design specifications and developer handoff materials.
Preferred Qualifications
• Pursuing a degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Product Design, or a related discipline.
• Strong proficiency with Figma or comparable design tools.
• Understanding of interaction design and information architecture.
• Strong visual and typographic judgment.
• Ability to create wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes.
• Understanding of responsive and accessible design.
• Familiarity with design systems is beneficial.
• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and frontend development is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
